The joke that masĀquerĀades as a funcĀtionĀing OnĀtario provinĀcial govĀernĀment has now beĀcome stale. Quite simĀply, itās time for a change at Queenās Park.
True, the LibĀerĀals did win a four-year manĀdate in 2011, and so can leĀgitĀiĀmately conĀtinue in ofĀfice unĀtil Oct. 1, 2015. But that elecĀtion saw DalĀton McGuinty at the helm not KathĀleen Wynne. And supĀport for McGuinty was tepid at best.
At disĀsoĀluĀtion in 2011, the McGuinty LibĀerĀals held 70 seats in the legĀisĀlaĀture. They lost 18 of those in the elecĀtionāto fall beĀlow maĀjorĀity staĀtusāwith popĀuĀlar supĀport from only 37.65 per cent of votĀers. FurĀtherĀmore, in the months since that elecĀtion, the rulĀing Grits have slipped furĀther to a mere 48 seats (one seat is empty) out of a toĀtal of 107, what with resĀigĀnaĀtions and reĀsultĀing by-elecĀtions.
Hardly a ringĀing enĀdorseĀment.
